The Dutch are wonderfully unharmed in fatal ravine crash after visiting Machu Picchu | Abroad

The minibus fell into a ravine just over 100 meters in the fog, said Peruvian Tourism and Foreign Affairs Minister Roberto Sanchez.

The government of the Cusco region, where the ancient Inca city is located, had reported that one Dutchman had been injured. Two of the deceased victims are Colombians, the other two have yet to be identified, the regional government said. Among the injured are four French, two Greeks, two Israelis, two Canadians, two Argentinians and two Peruvians. Some of them are transferred by air force plane to the Peruvian capital Lima.

The accident happened about 100 kilometers from the city of Cusco, the former capital of the Inca Empire and the main departure point for many World Heritage visitors. Every day about 5000 tourists visit Machu Picchu, which was built in the 15th century by the Inca emperor Pachacutec.
