Lic. Carina Mitrani, how were the beginnings in your profession?

More than 40 years ago when I started studying the psychology career, the predominant trend was psychoanalysis. The first 20 years were dedicated to this practice. Ten years later, I started at the Hospital School of Cardiology of the National Academy of Medicine, and acquired the specialty of Psychocardiologist. I was then head of the Medical Psychology Service of the Sacre Coeur Institute, for 20 years. I developed group stress reduction programs for patients with cardiovascular pathology and assisted them in preoperative and postoperative. I dedicated myself to the psychosomatic and psychoanalytic clinic. Then, I decided to explore other areas of psychology. I trained in EMDR, (ocular movements desensitization and reprocessing), a technique that I still use in cases of trauma, panic attacks and phobias. Years later, and for a random issue, I found the directed dream, and I was passionate about his methodology and his therapeutic efficacy.

What is the directed dream?

He Directed dream It is a powerful technique that allows access to the unconscious through the visualization of a symbol, in a state of relaxation. A “film” that keeps all the information of our life is developing on the patient’s mind screen. The therapist guides the process until its resolution, facilitating deep and durable transformations. By overcoming the resistance barriers, which we all have, it gives us a very rich material, working at the same time our past, present and most importantly, our future. This “living story” obtained, must then be decoded, disregarded, translated into past and present experiences of the patient.

What can you achieve with this tool?
Accelerate the therapeutic process, address traumas and emotional blockages, improve self -esteem and quality of life, accessing a fuller life, solving internal root conflicts.

How do you project in the medium term?

Due to my passion for teaching, I project as a trainer of facilitators in directed dreams, to transmit this valuable tool.

What differentiates you within your specialty?

I define myself as a tool psychologist. I consider that simply speakers or traditional therapies do not have the property of reaching the deepest areas of our brain where our traumas and experiences that condition our life in the form of inhibitions and limiting beliefs are stored. The use of directed dreams, little known in the world, constitutes a big difference.
