In a plane crash on May 22nd in San Diego, six people died-including Daniel Williams, the former drummer of the metalcore band The Devil Wears Prada. Now the fiancé of the drummer, Hannah Ray, has spoken on Instagram about her loss.
“My whole worldview is in ruins”
In her post, Hannah Ray describes the deep shock that left her partner’s sudden death. She addresses her words directly to the deceased, Daniel Williams: “My whole worldview is in ruins. The hole that you have left in all of our lives and hearts is immeasurable.” She emphasizes: “You were my best friend, partner, fiance, my biggest fan in every respect, the most supportive and positive soul that I have ever got to know. You showed me what true love is – a love that you may only learn once in life, if at all.”
Hannah Ray continues how their “common history” began on May 22, 2011, exactly 14 years before the accident day. The fact that he was torn out of life on this symbolic date makes the loss even less tangible for you. “I just can’t understand that I can never see or touch you again.”
Farewell to Daniel Williams
Daniel Williams, who was a member of The Devil Wears Prada between 2005 and 2016, had shared photos of himself and the music agent Dave Shapiro on Instagram shortly before the start. The band later confirmed that the drummer died in the plane crash on their own Instagram channel and published a picture of Williams with the caption: “No words. We owe everything to you. Forever into love.”
