Google Street View was launched in 2007 and is now an integral part of the Google Maps offering. But while the 360° camera vehicles roll through the streets of the world, more private and spooky moments are also captured. We show you some pearls from South America to Australia.
Pretty left hanging
When a lion on the crane isn’t weird enough already, one could complain about the way the animal is left hanging in this picture. Sometimes you really wish you had a little more support.
Live shots are fired on this country road
On a small country road not far from the Finnish capital Helsinki, soldiers are probably waiting for enemy contact – but they come on the road in the picture only cars passing by.

Group bathing fun
This street view prudence blooms on the visitors of the “Jigokudani Park” in Japan. The local monkey, the so-called Japanese macaque, enjoys a bath in the warm water springs with his fellow monkeys. Visitors can observe the animals up close.
Pets on the other side of the world
This is what a typical day looks like in front of a café on the island of Tasmania (belongs to Australia). There is an elderly gentleman sitting in front of theBossimi’s Sheffield Bakehouse‘ and enjoying a cup of coffee with his alpaca.
Even Google can be rowdy
In the southernmost part of South America lies the small village “Port Williams“. Even there, Google Street View has been on the road, sometimes accompanied by a boy on a bicycle. But after a few shots, the boy falls on the side of the road. Unfortunately, the still images do not reveal whether he was hit by the Google car.
Wrong parked
Someone must have parked their car wrong and got caught – in two respects. in the Subcarpathian not only the police are quickly on the spot.
