The court in Kiev seized all property ex-president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko… The decision is connected with a criminal case of high treason, in which the former head of state is being held.

The decision of the Pechersk District Court of Kiev is reported on the Facebook page of Poroshenko’s “European Solidarity” party. Also, representatives of the party published a video message from the lawyer Igor Golovan. He said that the decision to arrest was taken illegally at the order of the current President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

“The judge was determined to hold this session as soon as possible,” the lawyer said. “The judge was in a hurry to satisfy the whim of the president’s office and the president personally.”

Also, Poroshenko’s defender said about the many violations committed during the trial. According to Golovan, all this is aimed at preventing Poroshenko from conducting political activities. The lawyer added that the court’s decision will be appealed.

Poroshenko himself is currently abroad. He announced that he would return to Ukraine on January 17 and take part in the court hearings. He also stated that ready to answer all questions from law enforcement officers… According to the politician, Zelensky fears and hates him, and therefore “persecutes him through a system of twisted justice.”

The former president of Ukraine became a defendant in a criminal case on the supply of Donbass coal in 2014-2015. The case was initiated under the articles “Financing of terrorism”, “High treason” and “Creation of a terrorist organization”. Poroshenko faces 15 years in prison at home.
