In February, the fashion week for autumn/winter 2023 took place in Paris. From bright red to soft pastel tones to classic black and white looks – FashionUnited has summarized for you which colors will characterize the coming autumn season.
Brown from head to toe
As in Milan, designers in Paris used a wide range of brown tones in combination with other colors.
Akris #9
Albert Kriemler created a layered look: jacket and trousers with a geometric pattern in brown, beige, white and orange, underneath a brown turtleneck and another layer of earth brown rib knit over the trousers. A dark shoulder bag and boots completed the look.
Miu Miu #40
Miucca Prada wore a brown, wide-shouldered, four-button leather jacket over another light green leather jacket, paired with a sheer, nude-colored blouse and matching skirt. Accessories include an orange bag and black slingback pumps.
Dries Van Noten #28
A shirt and a double layered skirt made of different materials, all in different shades of brown. The look was completed with knee high brown platform boots.
Bright red
As in New York, a bright red hue appeared on the catwalks in Paris.
AZ Factory #15
By Lucinda Chambers and Molly Molloy: A long tunic and matching pants with a black and red geometric pattern and a stand-up collar in green, yellow and white.
Dundas #1
Peter Dundas showed off a red vinyl and wool turtleneck mini dress under a long navy blue army-style coat with red lapels and lining.
Stella McCartney #56
A white double layered slip dress with a black and white horse head and a wide hem of red sequins and chiffon.
Soft pastel
Somewhat unexpectedly, the designers opted for pastel shades in the autumn season, especially for evening wear.
Victoria Beckham #15
A 1940’s style mint colored silk dress with a plunging neckline embellished with a feather and cape at the shoulders. The dress was completed with cream fishnet tights and stone colored platform pumps.
Valentino #62
Pierpaolo Piccioli showed off a floor-length lime-colored dress with a matching tie and long sleeves. The model wore statement gold earrings, a white clutch bag and chunky black patent leather boots.
Givenchy #37
From Matthew M. Williams: A lilac chiffon dress with an asymmetric shoulder line. In addition a silver necklace and pumps made of gray fur.
Classic in black and white
For the ready-to-wear collections, the designers made strong statements with outfits that were all black and white.
Balmain #10
Olivier Rousteing showed off a black velvet suit with a fitted jacket and straight-leg pants. Another jacket made of angora wool was combined with a matching beret. Accessories included black gloves, a gold bag and pointed-toe shoes with a white satin bow.
Chanel #18
Virginie Viard showed off a simple black mid-length shift dress adorned with white marabou feathers. Silver earrings and black patent leather boots completed the look.
Alexander McQueen #29
Sarah Burton presented a white satin jumpsuit with a huge black orchid print. The one-piece suit has cut-outs at the waist and shoulders.
