“Rocket Juice & the Moon”

Little noticed Supergroup with little observed (and good) debut album from 2012: Albarn, Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers and drummer Tony Allen.

“A little lift music”

Comfortable instrumental from the “Great Escape” sessions. No elevator bossa-Nova.

“Morricone”

Hymn on the Italian soundtrack composer. “Think Tank” remnant, with goose echoor singing and police flair.

“Dr. Dee”

Albarn’s first opera work dates to 2011. John Dee was a court astrologist and royal consultant by Elisabeth I.

“Kissin Time”

On Marianne Faithfull’s album of the same name from 2002, a co-composition with Blur.

“Room on Fire”

Albarn is said to have-not used-background singing for the second strokes album. Sounds out-the band does not work with a strange background vocals.

“London Pride”

Cover of the Patriotic Noël Coward anthem, composed during the “Blitz” in 1941.

“Leviathan”

Unpublished Gorillaz song from 2009, with The Horrors and Gruff Rhys. A demo version can be heard in the documentary “The Making of Plastic Beach”.

Blur against Oasis? Nonsense! Blur members are happy about Oasis comeback

In the nineties, Blur and Oasis were more competitors than anything else. Now, almost thirty years later, the rivalry between the two Britpop acts seems to be forgotten. Because as Alex James now told in an interview, the Oasis live reunion even made him happy. And that is not the only blur member …

“You are great”

In a conversation with the “Observer” on December 1st, the Blur bassist shared his thoughts on the upcoming Oasis-Gig in Wembley next year. The 56-year-old: “I’m so happy for you. Very pleased. You are great. I like you.” And Alex James continues: “You know, there are some people – I don’t give names – who, when they enter a room, think: ‘Oh, damn shit, he is there.’ But if one of them enters a room, it is like: ‘Heyyy.’ He is an incredible singer, Liam, and he can’t help him to be a rock star. ”

With reference to Blurs recent tour, James also expressed: “And it is nice that you were waiting for us to clear our shit out of the way. These are very good manners.” It was not until the end of November 2023 that Blur ended her tour to the album “The Ballad of Darren”. In addition, they performed at the Coachella Festival in 2024.

Graham Coxon hopes for “serious” reunification

The guitarist of the group, Graham Coxon, sees it exactly. Here, too, you don’t notice anything about the former anti-attitude. So he said in October about the British “Sun” in relation to the Gallagher brothers and her: “It is good for her and it is good for the fans. I always said: ‘Do it just.'” However, he did not talk to the siblings about it: “Oh god, no, I would have [Noel] Not asked about it because I am not concerned with anything. I don’t know him well enough to say something like that. ” However, Coxon would like the reunification to be “meant seriously”. Because: “Some bands dissolve and never get this chance again.”
