An “energy crisis committee” of the authority informed all employees about electricity saving measures, which are to apply until March 31, 2023 for the time being.

► The recommended lower limit of 17 degrees applies in sports halls.

► The supply of hot water is reduced to a minimum.

► Exterior lighting and floodlighting of representative buildings will be switched off – but only where safety permits.

► Heating of stairwells and corridors is reduced.

► Room temperature limited to a minimum – but varies depending on the type of use.

► All heaters are serviced, operating times adjusted and reduced to a minimum.

► Lighting will be switched to LED lamps everywhere.

“Let us as the Berlin police – for the good of the general public – set a good example,” says the info-mail. “We therefore ask you, in anticipation of further regulations to be expected, to limit the use of private electrical devices in the office buildings to the minimum required for the service.”
