On Tuesday, Palloliitto published the decision of the disciplinary committee regarding the events of the Finnish Cup final, which has an interesting curiosity.

It says that in addition to KuPS’s 1,500 euro fine and Inter’s 1,300 euro fine, Palloliitto will also be fined 1,000 euro.

The Football Association informed the matter as follows:

– Since supporters of KuPS and FC Inter have brought pyrotechnic products to the match event, used them during the match event, and the Palloliitto, as the organizer of the match, is strictly responsible for the match event, the Palloliitto can be fined for violating safety regulations.

The Finnish Football Association’s national rules, regulation and disciplinary expert Matti Räisänen confirms that the union has indeed fined itself.

– In the sense that the disciplinary committee is an independent body of trust, but yes, in practice this is how it is.

The fines from the ball association’s treasury go to the association’s late chairman Pertti Alajan to the designated fund that supports low-income families in the football hobby.

The clubs, on the other hand, pay their fines to the competition fund, from which they are given at the end of the season to the winners of the Finnish-bred and own-bred competitions and the Veikkausliiga Fair Play competition.

Is the Football Association planning to appeal the decision?

– I don’t take a position on that, but the educated guess is that we won’t complain, Räisänen laughs.

The final of the Finnish Cup was won by KuPS, for which the championship was the second in a row.
