Club Brugge – 2nd with 59 points
Last year Club started the play-offs with 19 points behind leader Union (after halving there were 10). This season there are “only” 9 on KRC Genk. After halving that will be 4, but the Limburgers are in favor of an equal position. Union pants in the neck of Blauw-Zwart and can absorb the role as underdog in the title fight.
With the elimination in the Champions League, the look is now full on the title and cup. It has been since 1996 that Club won the double again. In the confrontations against the participants of the Champions’ Play-Offs, the Nicky Hayen team made it 14/30.
Cercle Brugge – 13th with 32 points
Only on the penultimate match day Cercle ended up in the danger zone, and the association could no longer protect itself from the last 4 (0-3 loss) against Anderlecht. After a rejected goal and the loss of Dender, the pain at Cercle will be extra large, because it had enough to save itself at a point.
Only the winner of the Relegation Play-Offs remains directly in first class. The number two plays barrages against the winner of the Promotion Play-Offs from the Challenger Pro League (CPL). The last two bags directly to the CPL.
In the duels against STVV, Kortrijk and Beerschot, Cercle achieved 6/18.
KV Kortrijk – 15th with 26 points
And that direct Zakker could become KV Kortrijk. Last season the guys were able to save themselves through barrages, but with five points behind STVV that does not seem like an easy assignment. In contrast to the play-offs at the top, the points are not halved. The victory in and against Ghent and the additional 6/6 will undoubtedly give KVK a trust in the battle for conservation.
In the duels against STVV, Cercle and Beerschot, KVK achieved 9/18.
