Real Madrid expressed its “condolences and love” to his family, his teammates, his clubs and all his loved ones

Italo Galbiati, assistant coach of Real Madrid in the 1996/1997 and 2006/07 seasons with Fabio Capellopassed away this Wednesday at the age of 85, as confirmed by the white club through an official statement.

“Real Madrid wants to express its condolences and affection to his family, his teammates, his clubs and all his loved ones”expressed the entity chaired by Florentino Pérez.

Galbiati, born in Milan on August 8, 1937, came to Real Madrid with Fabio Capello and together with the Italian coach won two league championships. He was also Capello’s assistant at Milan, Roma and Juventus, as well as England and Russia in a partnership that lasted until 2015.

Besides, Galbiati was a footballer and played for Inter a game before being transferred to Reggina in the 1959/60 season. He also played for Città di Lecco for six years and ended his career in 1967.

As first coach he led Milan as interim sometime in the early 80’s.
