An unprecedented personal drama for Ali B: the appeal in the abuse case against him has given him a one-year longer prison sentence. He has to go to jail for three years, not two years. The court considers not only the rape of his victim Naomi proven, but also that of singer Ellen ten Damme.

Support certificate

Initially, Ali was only convicted of attempting to rape Ellen. Now rape has been proven. “The court finds the observations of her then boyfriend reliable as supporting evidence,” it said A.D.

“She told her story to her then boyfriend immediately after the incident. He observed that she was completely absent. Ellen ten Damme also told him that Ali B had gone too far.”

No insight

It is a severe punishment for Ali. “Ali B, because he continued to deny, has shown no insight into his evil actions, according to the court. His conduct is ‘completely unacceptable’, the judge finds,” reports The Telegraph.

Ali B has been acquitted of assaulting Jill Helena. “The court says it has no reason to doubt her statement, but there is insufficient supporting evidence and no linking evidence, so she is acquitted.”

Disappointed

Ali’s celebrity status has not earned him a lesser sentence. “The court states that Ali B could have known that committing sexual offenses as a well-known Dutch person would cause great outrage and major media attention. He therefore has himself to blame for this. Ali B himself also sought out the media.”

Ali himself was not present at the verdict, but his lawyer Bart Swier was. “He leaves the room visibly disappointed. He has a tough message to tell Ali B, who was not present at the verdict,” the AD said.

God’s gift

Jan Dijkgraaf, who supported Maxime Meiland during her abuse case, feared the worst early this morning. “There is rarely direct evidence and so judges usually have to make decisions based on ‘supporting evidence’. Things can freeze and thaw,” he wrote in Brief from Jan. “That’s the plague with morals cases.”

He continued: “That Ali B. is an arrogant bastard who thinks that he God’s gift to women should not play a role in the judges’ ruling. So it could easily be an acquittal.”

Unfortunately for Ali, fate has decided differently… This ruling is still possible to appeal to the Supreme Court.
