The German cycling professional Jonas Rutsch gave all -clear after his violent fall on the eighth stage of the 112nd Tour de France.

“It was a relatively painful fall. But nothing is broken,” said Rutsch to the “ZDF” on Saturday evening: “Now it’s time to lick wounds, then it goes on.” A start on the ninth stage on Sunday to Châteauroux is therefore not at risk.

The 27-year-old from the Intermarché-Wanty team had unexpectedly fell around 20 km before the destination of the long unspectacular stage to Laval. “I was in the bottle and put the bottles away, then they slowed down in front of me. I hung up on the rear wheel and flew at 55 km / h,” said Rutsch.

After a short treatment, he continued his journey. The goal reached Rutsch with 13:53 minutes behind the winner of the day Jonathan Milan in the 176th and last place.
