The absence of a star striker can be seen and felt – the Premier League team is in trouble until January

Brentford, who finished ninth in the Premier League last season, has started the new season sluggishly.

Brentford’s season has started with a bang. PDO

The most interesting game of the day

In Sunday’s only match in the Premier League, lower middle class teams Nottingham and Brentford meet. Nottingham is currently twelfth in the league with seven points and Brentford, who finished ninth last season, is fourteenth with six points.

The points achieved by the teams correspond very well to their game performances and expected points.

Nottingham’s early season schedule has been rather special, as it has played at home only twice so far and faced Sheffield United and Burnley, who belong to the bottom of the series, in the matches.

Correspondingly, away from home, Nottingham has had a difficult start to the series, as they have already faced Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City.

The team is undefeated at home, but its true level is not necessarily clear yet. Today’s match against Brentford shows Nottingham’s home game strength against a team of roughly their own level.

Last season’s number one striker has been marked through Brentford Ivan Toney intervention. Toney, who scored no fewer than 20 goals for his team in the Premier League last season, was banned for eight months in the spring for violating the Premier League’s betting rules.

Without Toney, Brentford has suffered from both goalscoring problems and, more generally, the dysfunction of the way they play. Toney will not return to the ring until January.

Brentford is trying to alleviate the ineffectiveness of the attacking end by borrowing someone familiar from Everton by Neal Maupay.

Maupay scored 37 goals in 85 matches for Brentford in the Championship in the 2017–2018 and 2018–2019 seasons. In the Premier League, the Frenchman has been inadequate both at Brighton and at Everton. In addition to the problems at the attacking end, Brentford also has injury concerns today, as the sidelines from the defense are Ben Mee and Rico Henry. They are missing from the midfield Kevin Schade, Josh Dasilva, Mikkel Damsgaard and Shandon Baptiste. Including the league cup, Brentford is on a three match losing streak.

Home team Nottingham has a good injury situation; only Danilo in the midfield and defender Felipe, who was a reserve player anyway, are gone.

In terms of the balance of power, Nottingham’s strength against teams of their own level is still a small question mark, but considering Brentford’s lackluster performance, the home team should basically be a slight favorite here.

In terms of the number of goals, it would be quite surprising if this match turned into a goal celebration. The best bet is the 1.68 odds offered for under 2.5 goals. Nottingham–Brentford starts at 16:00.

The best betting tip of the day

Sunday’s tastiest bets can be found in the Championship Series. Out of last season’s premier league relegations (Leicester, Southampton and Leeds), Leicester has clearly survived the league level change based on the early season the best.

In addition to Leicester leading the Championship before the weekend round, the team’s playing is also currently the best and most balanced in the series.

In eight matches, Leicester have conceded only five goals. In their only defeat of the season at home to Hull at the beginning of September, Leicester were quite unlucky. In the match that ended 0–1, Leicester took the goal posts 22–8 and the expected goal 1.1–0.3.

The value of a good 7–0–1 goals 14–5 balance is also increased by the fact that Leicester has already faced away from their main opponents, both Norwich and Southampton. Leicester beat Southampton 4–1 and Norwich 2–0. Both wins were fully deserved.

Currently, Leicester seems to be the closest to the Premier League level among the teams in the Championship.

Blackburn, Leicester’s opponent on Sunday, belongs to the middle caste of the series. Blackburn is currently 14th in the table with a balance of 3–1–4 goals 12–16.

Before the start of the ninth round, only Southampton and Rotherham have allowed more goals in their own net than Blackburn. The team’s problem is the poor organization of the (defensive) game.

In terms of coaching/tactics, Blackburn and Leicester currently have such a big difference in favor of Leicester that it should be a clear favorite even in the away team. The material advantage is also strongly in favor of Kettu.

The best bet is Asian lines Leicester-0.25 with odds of 1.75. There may even be a small risk of a multiplier drop here. Blackburn – Leicester starts at 14:00.
