The 2029 World Swimming Championships will take place in Beijing

The 2029 World Swimming Championships will be held in Beijing. The World Aquatics Association announced this at the World Championships in Qatar.

“The People’s Republic of China is a proven host, having organized more than 100 major aquatics competitions, 37 of which have taken place in Beijing. Beijing has hosted the Olympic and Paralympic Games twice, as well as numerous other major sporting events, and promises an unforgettable experience for athletes and fans,” said World Aquatics.

China is very active in organizing major swimming events. This year alone, three World Cup events will be held in Beijing (synchronized swimming), Xi’an (diving) and Shanghai (swimming).

Before the best swimmers compete in China, the world championships are planned in Singapore 2025 and Budapest 2027.
