that’s why you want to go to the skating rink near Zoetermeer

Yep, it’s back: the skating rink around the town hall! This is the fifth year that you can skate around the town hall in Gouda and that is why the organization makes it extra fun.

So get your skates out of the closet, borrow them from your neighbors or rent them at the rink. From Wednesday, December 20, 2023 you can show your skills on the ice again. Or learn, of course. The adjacent Koek & Zopie will also be present again this fifth anniversary year. You can enjoy the skating rink and ice fun around it until Sunday, January 14, 2024.

Disco skating and more

The day the skating rink opens, Gouda will also be full of Santa Clauses. The Rotary Santa Run will be held that day from 6:30 PM. This makes the opening of the skating rink completely festive. Skate around City Hall while watching Santa Clauses run around. Nice!

There are special evenings for the avid speed skaters throughout the period. Every Sunday to Thursday you can also skate with Norwegians on the track from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Plenty of opportunities to pick up the pace on your good skates.

Also back: disco skating! Every Friday from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM you can swing on the ice to your favorite hits. Requests are welcome. In addition, the program includes ‘Q-time’ with Quadrant Children’s Centers, the Hollandsche Avond and the ‘Dubbel Strapats’ Business Tournament with a Bavarian Curling & Sjoel competition.

In the Christmas holiday

Anyone who still has something to learn on the ice can join us every day during the holidays skating clinics. The supervisors are available from 8:00 am to 9:00 am to teach the youth how to skate. Please note: the skating clinics are not available during the holidays.

During the holidays it is even more fun to go to the skating rink. For example, Wednesday, December 27 is GIJS Fan Day. Meet the mascot and let Vivian den Hollander read to you.

You don’t just toast the new year at midnight with your friends and family. Come to the Koek & Zopie on January 1 to raise a glass with your neighbors and relax while you look panoramic over the skating rink. This Lazy Happy NEW Monday will be extra fun with acoustic live music.

A spectacular ending

There will not be a real Eleven Cities Tour this year, but the organization will provide one at the skating rink mini variant. On Wednesday, January 10, 2024 you can skate for charity. In addition to your entrance ticket, you can purchase a stamp card. This way you can skate along with the tour a bit! The proceeds go to the Hartekind Foundation.

Not long afterwards it is really time for the final round. The last opportunity to skate around the town hall will be on January 14, 2024. Come to the Kids Party from 12 noon to 5 p.m. that day and receive an activity card upon admission. That day there will not only be ice skating, but you can also play shuffleboard, have your face painted, do a treasure hunt and have your picture taken with Gijs.
