Fast money in a short time … There are around a dozen sperm banks in Germany that cooperate with doctors and fertility clinics. An analysis now provides information about how much the donors in German cities can earn for it.
Men in the North Rhine-Westphalian cities of Düsseldorf and Hagen receive the largest expense allowance. An average of 150 euros is transferred here if you successfully deliver your own sperm. In Erlangen, Bavaria, it is 130 euros per donation, in Ludwigsburg in Baden-Württemberg MANN receives 100 euros for it. How much money is there here in Berlin? In the capital, a sperm donor receives an average of 80 euros. The cities of Hamburg and Munich also account for the same sums. But: According to the sperm banks in Berlin surveyed for the analysis, a total of up to 100 samples can normally be submitted, which corresponds to a sum of 8000 euros.
The nationwide average for a sperm donation is around 110 euros. A total of 20 European cities were compared in the analysis.
Incidentally, donors in the Swiss capital Zurich receive most of the money. Here there is the equivalent of 2000 euros per donation. In Helsinki (Finland) it is 447 euros, in the Austrian capital Vienna 100 euros.
Also interesting: The permissible age of donors varies significantly in the cities. Interested men may be 20 to 50 years old in Erlangen, but only 18 to 38 years in Düsseldorf and 20 to 38 years in Berlin.
In Vienna, in addition to the age range (18 to a maximum of 35 years), there is another important criterion for being approved for a donation: a completed vocational training or a university degree.
And another exciting fact: In Belgium, financial compensation for a sperm donation is strictly forbidden. That’s why men only get reimbursed for their travel expenses. There is also no money for donors in Paris and Vilnius. Instead, men receive a free semen quality test and screening for possible sexually transmitted diseases.
