Denise van der Laan received a smack from Talpa for her participation in the popular Hansler soap on SBS 6. “Yes, I was indeed paid by Talpa,” says the reality celebrity.

The relationship between Denise van der Laan and her former mother-in-law Monique Hansler was so cold that it ultimately led to the end of her relationship with son Mike Hansler. For example, Monique wanted Denise to pay board money because she lived with them, but at the same time she also had to work unpaid in their new beach club.

Money from Talpa

Monique states that Denise could have easily paid that board fee, because she received a salary for her participation in the SBS 6 soap. “I was indeed paid by Talpa,” she says The Telegraph. “That was necessary, because my fixed costs continued as normal.”

What fixed costs? “I rented a very expensive storage facility for my belongings in the Netherlands, because I had given up my house for this adventure. Then you also have your medical expenses, telephone, your car – you name it. And I also had to pay rent for that caravan that I eventually ended up in, right?”

Jackpot

Denise has received ‘a minimum wage’ from John de Mol’s media company, she says. “Maybe the three of them have hit the jackpot. Certainly not me. I had a separate contract and was just able to pay my fixed costs from it.”

She continues: “I may not have negotiated that properly. But this is all new to me. How could I have known that it would be such a huge success?”

Spread out

Denise would actually only receive the amount after the soap, she says. “Not until September. But I ultimately asked for payment in installments, otherwise I wouldn’t have even made it. At the beginning of July I already received a portion of it. I indeed paid Monique’s board fee once, which, according to her, was ‘not enough’.”

“Again: I could barely pay my fixed costs on my TV allowance. And it was hardly possible to earn extra, because I also worked six days a week in ‘our’ Beach Club Tammies. Without a salary.”
