The return of Astrid Holleeder to the desk of RTL Tonight does not generate much enthusiasm among people. “I don’t think her words are very strong as a lawyer,” she said.

We haven’t seen her in the RTL Tonight studio for quite some time: Astrid Holleeder, the woman who owes her TV job to her infamous surname. Friend and enemy agree that she is not exactly a strong TV personality, but it turns out she was not fired from RTL 4’s late talk show. There was a security problem.

No addition

Astrid will soon return to the program, but there is little enthusiasm about it. “No addition to the program at all. She would be better off doing something else, because in my experience she is only there because of her surname,” says RTL 4 viewer Petra in the reaction forum of NU.nl.

One Peter: “With a lot of fanfare she was announced at RTL as if she would reveal something new and would be an addition to the program. Nothing could be further from the truth and she had nothing (new) to report.”

Not missed

Marcel didn’t miss Astrid for a second on TV. “At RTL Tonight she generally had little meaningful to say and she doesn’t really come across well on TV. She really fell through the ice for me because of her sympathy for that kid who supported Andrew Tate’s ideas. I didn’t expect that at all from her.”

Wilma is irritated by Astrid’s ambitions anyway. “Of all the options available with such a complicated background, Madam chooses the spotlight. Lifelong security costs society a huge amount of money and you can expect that someone will make a realistic assessment of the risks and listen to advice.”

Evert lashes out

Privé star Evert Santegoeds is also not waiting for Astrid. “It was: ‘Here I am! I’m Astrid Holleeder!’ And the Netherlands thought: oh, yes… I don’t believe that was the revelation that RTL had dreamed of, because they thought: that’s what we’re building the program around, but I also didn’t think her words were very strong as a lawyer.”

Is someone waiting for her? “No,” he says in the podcast Strictly Private. “But that applies to the entire program and it continues to do so. So I’m not surprised.”
