Two weeks after the death of Ozzy Osbourne, the official cause of death published.
According to a death certificate that is available to the “New York Times”, Black Sabbath’s front man died of a heart attack “outside of a hospital”. He also suffered from coronary heart disease and Parkinson’s. The certificate submitted by his daughter Aimee Osbourne in London lists his profession as a “songwriter, performer and rock legend”.
The certificate names the cause of the death:
“(A) cardiac arrest outside the hospital
(b) Acute myocardial infarction
(c) Coronary heart disease and Parkinson’s with autonomous dysfunction (common causes), ”said the New York Times.
Death on July 22nd
Osbourne died on July 22nd. A rescue helicopter flew to his house near Chalfont St. Giles in Buckinghamshire, England. His family announced his death on the same day, but initially made no information about the cause of death. In the past, Osbourne had spoken publicly about his health problems due to Parkinson’s disease. Already in February he declared that he could no longer run.
Last appearance in July
At the beginning of July, Osbourne performed again with the original line -up of Black Sabbath – with a elaborately staged farewell show. He sang from a throne.
“It fulfills us with more grief than expressing words that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne died this morning,” wrote his family in a statement. “He was in the circle of his family and surrounded by love. We ask to respect our privacy during this time.”
Osbourne once again united with Black Sabbath in 1997, and from then on the band toured in various formations of the original line -up.
In 2025, the last joint appearance of the four original members occurred.
Last concert before his death
17 days later, Osbourne died of complications in connection with his Parkinson’s disease.
