Borussia Dortmund started with great difficulties in the past season, sometimes only ranked in the lower half of the table. A new false start to the Bundesliga season should be avoided. And indeed: with ten points from the first four games, BVB is totally in the target and is the first pursuer of FC Bayern in the current table.
Midfield star Felix NMECHA now explained what, in his view, is better running compared to the start of the season 2024/2025.
“We are closer together as a team and have a good chemistry in the team,” the 24-year-old told BVB club media after the important 1-0 home win against VfL Wolfsburg.
NMECHA added: “We know that last season did not run as we wanted – even if we showed a lot of character in the end. Now we are trying to take it over this season. We all know each other better now, hopefully it will continue.”
Born in Hamburg, he has been under head coach Niko Kovac to date, has been used in all six previous competitive games of the current season.
Anton Hochspecy of Schlotterbeck return
Behind him in the past few weeks and months Waldemar Anton has become the new head of defense for the black and yellow. On Sunday evening, Anton Hoche was delighted that his central defender colleague Nico Schlotterbeck was back on the lawn after several months of injury and celebrated his comeback against Wolfsburg.
“We must not forget, the boy failed for half a year and plays 90 minutes today. Incredible!” Said Anton about his defensive colleagues.
He continued: “It was a lot of fun with him. Schlotti and I understand each other well. I know what he is doing, he knows what I do. You can see that we need him in top form, he showed that today. I am very happy that he stood on the pitch today – Chapeau!”
