Also – or especially – in uncertain times, fashion can set a positive statement.
The colors, patterns and fabrics that can now be seen in spring and summer do it. They bring lightness, freshness and happiness. Two experts reveal what exactly is the order of the day and how to combine it stylishly.
Color trends: soft tones, lively accents and ‘mokka mousse’
Pastel tones such as mint, ice blue, butter yellow and light pink can be seen particularly often this season. These gentle colors create a relaxed, harmonious basis and can be easily combined.
“Pastel tones stand for freshness and lightness,” says color and style consultant Jasmin Link. They create a harmonious look in an all-over look. The combination of several delicate tones such as light pink with butter yellow or a light blue, says Madeline Dangmann, Senior Fashion Editor at Glamor Germany, is also particularly popular this year.
Who is what? Colors such as mint green or light pink go best with warm skin types with golden or bronze -colored undertones. “On the other hand, colors such as ice blue or salmon pink that underline the complexion are suitable for cool skin types,” says Link. In general, if you are unsure whether certain colors flatter your own skin type, you should wear it in the lower area of the body, i.e. as pants or rock. “It is important that the colors on the face appear harmonious and do not distract the focus.”
Courageous accents ensure strong colors such as a bright red, Burgundy or Bordeaux, says Madeline Dangmann. Green, especially in poisonous and olive green tones, remains present. Already in the last year by the successful pop album ‘Brat’ influenced by musician Charli XCX, the color will remain a highlight in the coming summer months.
Not to be forgotten is the Pantone annual color ‘Mokka mousse’, a warm, earthy brown tone. Dangmann describes the color as particularly versatile and durable. The color is reminiscent of freshly brewed coffee, velvety chocolate or creamy caramel – all positive associations.

Jasmin Link says: “Mokka mousse radiates warmth and security, which makes it a popular choice, especially in uncertain times”. According to Madeline Dangmann, it can be combined with natural and pastel colors such as cream, beige or light blue, but also fits the strong trend colors red or green as a neutral tone.
Pattern: Animal Prints and many, many flowers
This spring and summer, many patterns are romantically playful – to match the Boho Chic. Floral patterns are high in the course: the palette ranges from playful, romantic flower prints to graphic flower patterns that are reminiscent of the 1970s.
Animal prints remain an integral part of the collections, especially the classic leopard pattern. “Leo runs and runs,” says Dangmann. But other animal designs such as zebra and cow stain patterns can also be seen. So -called ‘Bambi Prints’ – a delicate pattern inspired by the fawn, which slowly moves into spring 2025, are particularly striking.
Animal prints can quickly seem to be overloaded, but with the right styling tricks they can be carried well in everyday life. “Leo print can be combined particularly well with covered colors such as black or brown,” says the color and style consultant Jasmin Link. If you like it less striking, you can start with an accessory such as shoes or pockets in an animal print and thus slowly dare to take the trend.
Fabrics: transparent fabrics, natural materials, suede
The fabrics of the season reflect the ease of summer. Natural materials such as linen, flowing materials such as silk and a light summer knit are particularly popular, according to Madeline Dangmann.
Transparent fabrics can also be seen everywhere in the spring and summer collection. In order to wear transparent pieces in style, fashion expert Madeline Dangmann recommends using layering techniques. “A transparent blouse looks particularly elegant when it is worn over a beautiful bra or simple top.”

Classic trousers or skirts that balance the look go well with this. A masculine cut blazer is ideal for colder days, which can be carried through transparent clothing. This creates an exciting contrast between feminine and masculine.
If you want to implement the trend even more cautiously, you can start with subtle missions. For example with a skirt that is opaque at the upper part and has a transparent use at the bottom of the hem. Or you can wear a transparent dress and underneath a pair of pants or a top.
In addition to transparent fabrics and classic materials such as cotton and jersey, leather, especially suede, remains an integral part of the collections, says Jasmin Link. Skirts, blazers and accessories such as large suede bags are particularly in demand. Vegan’s leather offers a sustainable and animal -friendly alternative.
