Oostdenaar Marlon Colpaert and Bruggeling Tibo Vyvey have shown themselves from their best side during the World Cup competition. After a third place in the semi-final, they placed convincingly in front of the A-final of the double.

In an exciting final battle, Colpaert and Vyvey crossed the finish line fourth, just five seconds from the Swiss winners. With that they narrowly missed the stage, but their achievement is historical: it is the best result of a Belgian double of a world cup since 2001, when Stijn Smulders and Bjorn Hendrickx won gold.

The next chance of honorary metal follows quickly, because the next World Cup competition is already on the program in Luzern at the end of this month.
