Thai Princess Bajrakitiyabha Mahidol has died at the age of 47 after being in a coma for more than three years. The Thai royal family reported this on Friday (local time). King Maha Vajiralongkorn’s eldest daughter lost consciousness in December 2022 while training her dogs.

According to the British broadcaster BBC, her doctors attributed the incident to a seriously disturbed heartbeat due to an infection of the heart muscle.
Princess Bajrakitiyabha was seen as the most logical successor to her father, the 73-year-old King Maha Vajiralongkorn, also known as Rama She was the eldest of the king’s seven children.
With the death of the princess, the royal family loses one of its most notable members, writes the BBC. From 2012 to 2014 she was ambassador for Thailand in Austria. She also studied law at two universities in the United States.
