Thai Constitutional Court suspends Prime Minister Prayut

Thailand’s Constitutional Court today suspended Prayut Chan-O-Cha as prime minister pending a decision on whether Prayut can stay on longer. Today Prayut has been prime minister for eight years, and under the Thai constitution, a prime minister can remain in office for a maximum of eight years. The court’s decision is a landslide in Thai politics, months before long-awaited elections.
