TH Couture shows new collection

The Berlin studio Thimmhoth Couture welcomed the spectators in the impressive walls of the Zwinglikirche on Thursday evening. There designer and managing director Thimm Hoth presented his summer/late year 2022 collection “Everything in the best order”.

To tactful music, the models walked through a historic, wooden sliding door into the nave. The first thing is a look reminiscent of a vaudeville costume: a simple body meets a silk tailcoat.

This monotonous look is followed by an outfit that couldn’t be more contrasting: A long dress with a transparent tulle skirt in red, combined with a pink satin top. A devil’s tail protrudes from the hem on the back, drawing all eyes to it.

The rest of the collection is as diverse as the first two looks are. This is followed by a mixture of unique pieces and prêt-à-porter samples. Pastel and neon colors meet dark earth tones and black. In addition to fringed jackets, dungarees and colorful patchwork dresses, there were also classic tweed two-piece suits and blazers. In typical Berlin techno style, the outfits with black boots were designed by Dr. Martens combined. The sneakers by design student David Enzenhofer provided a change in footwear.

All parts of the collection were made by the five-person team in the label’s studio in Lichtenberg. The fabrics used were mostly gifts from colleagues who have gone out of business due to the pandemic. The show’s title was also the designer’s inspiration and mantra.

“The last few months and years have not been okay, we don’t even have to mention why. But actually everything is fine, because we didn’t have to do without a lot here, ”explains Hoth to FashionUnited. “And basically we now had the chance again to do this event in the beautiful setting of this church. Actually, everything is in perfect order – and that was the motivation and the drive for the collection”.

TH Couture stands for “wearable, timeless, elegant, responsible and, above all, fashion that is conceived with passion,” says the designer. In addition to a few samples, the label focuses primarily on made-to-order designs. There is no stationary store and the tailor-made designs are all created in the studio.
