TFF President Mehmet Büyükekşi announced the total debt of the clubs

Speaking at the International Football Economy Forum 2022 event held in Turkuvaz Media, TFF President Mehmet Büyükekşi talked about the debt situation of the Super League teams and the necessity of the academy.

Büyükekşi said, “The biggest problem economically is the debts of our clubs. Our clubs have a debt of approximately 25 billion liras. We estimate that it will be worth 50 billion liras with interest rates. We have to work in unity and cooperation to find solutions.” used the phrases.

Explaining that the concerts will continue before the matches in order to attract great interest in the Super League and lower league matches, Büyükekşi said, “We have been at an equal distance to all our clubs since the day we took office. We will continue this with determination. From the beginning of the second half, we will organize concerts in both the Super League and lower league matches. By spreading this work to all our leagues, we will have implemented our principle of equality.” said.

“ACADEMY REQUIREMENT IS COMING”

Touching on the infrastructure problem, Mehmet Büyükekşi announced that they would impose an academy obligation on all clubs. Büyükekşi said, “The most important issue for Turkish football to come out of the trouble it is in is infrastructure. We have no choice but to train football players in the infrastructure. Instead of bringing foreign players from abroad, we need to bring a teacher who will train players for the infrastructure. We make an academy obligation, especially for the Super League teams. We have started working on this. TFF will be the chief of the infrastructure organization. Most of the instructors working in the infrastructure work for minimum wage. We want to revise this according to today’s conditions and as TFF, we want to pay the salaries for 6 months.” said.

“WE WILL FIND THE BEST EXAMPLES”

Mentioning that they will moan about European examples for the academy program, Büyükekşi said, “Only 3 of the 55 countries affiliated to UEFA have not done a strategy study. One of them is Turkey. We will do these studies. We will implement the 3-5-10 year strategic planning of Turkish football. We will visit the academies of at least two important teams in each country. Our visits to Turkey continue. We will find the best examples both at home and abroad and implement the academy program.”

“WE COLLECTED EVEN BETTER POINTS THAN 2000”

TFF President, “We collected more points this year than in 2000 in the ranking of country points. We have risen to the 12th rank, we can rise to the 10th rank according to the results we will get in the following matches.” used his words.
