A memorial table is set up in the hotel. In addition to flowers, cards, a framed funeral advertisement are also a photo of Kamila. A few candles burn. The loss is great, but the memory of a nice colleague remains. “We think if we can make something permanent for her. A bank or something else.”
Collection for funeral
Together with Daniëlle Vilten van Brasserie Carakter in De Koog, Ingeborg held a collection campaign to pay for her funeral in Poland. This has since stopped because the intended amount of 19,000 euros has been widely brought in.
“It is unprecedented how many people sympathize and also donate,” says Ingeborg. “I still get messages now. The family and we are also very grateful with these gifts.”
When Kamila leaves the island, the team wants to say goodbye to her at the ferry. “That is also a good time to close it. She is gone, but we never forget her.”
