In a first real endurance test with new coach Thomas Schaaf, Hannover 96 conceded a defeat against Hertha BSC. The Lower Saxony lost 0:1 (0:1) to their Bundesliga rivals. In the training camp in Belek, Vedad Ibisevic (38th minute) scored the goal for the superior Berliners. The surprise third in the Bundesliga determined the game. A goal by striker Ibisevic was disallowed for offside in the 14th minute. The Hanoverians, threatened with relegation, remained largely harmless on the offensive in the second game under Schaaf and made a number of imprecise passes.
