As the two football clubs announced on Saturday, the game will not take place due to the armed conflict between Israel and the Palestinian organization Islamic Jihad (PIJ).
For both teams it would have been the last endurance test before the start of the season. Atletico meet Getafe FC away on 15 August, while Juventus start their Italian championship campaign with a home game against Sassuolo Calcio on the same day.
