Tesla’s success story seems inseparable to company boss Elon Musk. But the multi-billionaire is not only a guarantee of success, but is increasingly becoming a stress factor.

• Ex-Tesla manager Matthew Labrot criticized Elon Musk sharp
• According to the Labrot, Musks endangers political activities and polarization Tesla’s brand image
• He not only demands Musk’s resignation, but even the complete exit from the company

Since Elon Musk has entered Tesla a year after the foundation of the then young electric car manufacturer and in particular took over the chief position in 2008, the startup has become a global corporation with ambitions to electrify the automotive segment. Elon Musk’s leadership style was always controversial, after all, he demanded a lot and the workforce. But the success, which was undeniably driven by himself, agreed: Today, the electric autopionier is worth more than a trillion US dollar – and has significantly determined the triumphal march of electricity -operated vehicles.

Musk becomes increasingly a problem

But the success story of Tesla has recently stumbled. The demand for electric cars has dropped in the past few months, and there is also an increasingly confusing competitive situation – especially from China, numerous rivals are pushing on the market that want to lose Tesla market shares and have even overtaken the US group, such as in the case of BYD. In this tense situation, the person Elon Musk is more and more critical. His commitment to the US government under Donald Trump, which he had not only supported with millions of donations in the election campaign, but also for which he also headed the Department of Government Efficiency in order to ensure additional government efficiency through massive savings efforts, and also had consequences for Tesla and his share price.

At the beginning of May, the pressure on the management level had grown so great that Tesla management had already started the search for a potential successor. Although the article of the “Wall Street Journal” was immediately denied by the company, Musk had already announced that Musk had already withdrawn from the government organization and wanted to work again for Tesla – this probably secured his CEO position at Tesla.

Insider interview revives rumors

But apparently Elon Musk’s whereabouts at the top of the electric car maker is not a permanent option. Matthew Labrot, a former Tesla employee, has made statements to Hard Reset Substack that indicate a possible replacement of Musk. As part of the interview, Labrot said that Musk could soon be “Game Over” for Musk. “I don’t think he can still do something against it,” said the ex-employee, who worked as a deputy manager in South California, was then appointed managing director and finally moved to the Bay Area and took on further tasks there.

Labrot had published an anonymous letter on a website he has set up called “Tesla Employees Against Elon”. In it, he argued that the CEO damages the company, damage its image and let the sales decrease, and asked the company without continuing. “It is time to express the quiet words loudly,” wrote Labrot according to Hard Reset. “To say it clearly: We are not the problem. Our products are not the problem. Our development, service and delivery teams are not the problem. The problem is the problem. The problem is elon.” Labrot was released within two days.

However, the ex-Tesla manager continues and also refers to increasing dissatisfaction from the customer side: “We noticed that customers, regular customers, avoid some of us,” said Labrot in the exclusive interview. “As a result, I noticed what he posted on Twitter and what political views he developed.” In his opinion, Musk has increasingly opposed those people who are Tesla’s core target group: Musk’s politics had associated him with exactly those people, industries and guidelines that were directly offset by Tesla’s core task as electric vehicle manufacturers. “The people he supported were exactly the one we had to fight for in our attempt to drive sustainable energies,” Labrot continued to Hard Reset.

Labrot sees the only way to convince the buyers again in a change of management: “I do not think that he can change the people who can no longer support Tesla, except through his resignation. And even many of my interlocutors do not consider this to be sufficient at the moment. They want him to sell all of his shares and something like that I do not expect. Labrot pessimistic assessment.
