The fiasco in the Skriniar operation marks the final stretch of the market in the Parisian entity

The head of sports management, Luis Campos, and the coach, Christophe Galtier, are quite unhappy

The regular result of the summer market for Paris Saint-Germain, after failing to hire Milan Skriniar and an exit operation limited in names and income, has generated tension among the sports managers of the club.

The person in charge of sports management, the Portuguese Luis Campos, and the coach, Christophe Galtier, are quite unhappy with the result of the work of the Portuguese Antero Henrique, former sports director and in charge of departuresaccording to L’Equipe, Le Parisien and RMC Sports agree this Friday.

On the one hand, the main disappointment has been not being able to sign the Slovak center-back Milan Skriniarfor which Inter did not get off their request for 80 million euros for the transfer, despite the fact that PSG president himself, Nasser al Khelaifi, was ultimately involved in the negotiations.

Skriniar was the key market target for the Parisians, to shore up the defence, even as a starter as Galtier usually plays with three central defenders and two wingers.

But Inter did not accept PSG’s latest €65m offer despite the player only having one year left on his contract.

Other possible PSG targets, such as Lewandowski, Tchouaméni or Bernardo Silva, did not have the Parisian club among their possible targets.

Henrique is also criticized for the fact that, although he managed to get rid of a good part of the ballast he wanted to get rid of (Herrera, Paredes, Gueye, Diallo, Draxler, Kurzawa, Wijnaldum or Kehrer), the club only obtained 49 million euros in transfers (which could be something else with bonuses), since many exits were through loans and many at the last minute.

This is a figure very far from the 150 million euros that the club had set as a goal in order to adjust to UEFA’s financial “fair play”so PSG has not adjusted to its plan to sign with the money from the transfers.

Another point is that Paredes (Juventus) and Draxler (Benfica) have been loaned to PSG’s direct rivals in Group H of the Champions League.

In addition, the two main figures that PSG wanted to see leave, the Costa Rican Keylor Navas and the Argentine Mauro Icardi, will continue in Paris at least until the winter market.

From Henrique’s side, it is answered that PSG has collided with the reality of the European market, where only the Premier has had a lot of money to sign. Even more so due to the difficulty of getting rid of players with several years pending very generous contracts.

At the level of arrivals, PSG has managed in this market to almost completely renew its questionable midfield, with the arrival of the Spaniards Fabián Ruiz and Carlos Soler and the Portuguese Vitinha and Renato Sanches, who will join Marco Verratti, indisputable and only survivor of that line.

They have been joined by other young talents, such as defender Mukiele or attacker Ekitike, who are not expected to have an immediate impact on the club.
