In the tennis world it is a popular discussion among active, alumni and fans, who is now the best player of all time in their sport, the Goat (Greatest of All Time). Boris Becker, undoubtedly Germany’s most successful tennis player in history, has their own opinion after the mad French Open final from last Sunday between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.

For the six-time Grand Slam winner, Paris’s five-and-hour spectacle has been certain that Carlos Alcaraz has already had what it takes to go to the Goat of tennis at just 22 years.

“The variation, with the power, with the feeling of the ball – I don’t know a player in the history of tennis who has this combination,” Boris Becker named on Monday the variability of the young Spaniard as an outstanding strength in his game.

With this combination mentioned by Becker, the right -handed man is “the best player ever” for him.

Boris Becker performed in Stuttgart on one of the lawns of the Weißenhof tennis club, producing the podcast together with ex-World Class player Andrea Petkovic, in which Carlos Alcaraz’s performance level was discussed in detail.

Alcaraz remains second in the world rankings

Ebenener Alcaraz had run in his second title at the French Open on Sunday and is now already with a total of five Grand slam titles. In a high-class and dramatic endgame, on Sunday he declined the world ranking first Jannik Sinner from Italy after a 0-2 set deficit. In the fourth set, he already had to ward off three match balls in series from Sinner.

“He still has a seventh gait,” enthused Becker about Alcaraz. The Spanish world ranking runner-up also shows weaker achievements. For the 57-year-old, however, it is clear: “He is a genius for me. If he is challenged when he is tickled when he is motivated, he will find a different level that no player has in the world.”

Despite the triumph at Roland Garros, Alcaraz is currently ranks second in the Tennis World Rankings behind the Italian Sinner. Record Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic, who is also frequently mentioned in the Goat debate in addition to the Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, which has already resigned, is still in fourth in the ATP ranking at 38.
