Tennis: Hanfmann fails in Chile

Tennis professional Yannick Hanfmann failed in the first round of the ATP tournament in Santiago de Chile.

After winning the first set convincingly, the number five seed from Karlsruhe lost to Argentine qualifier Juan Manuel Cerundolo 6:3, 3:6, 5:7. After 2:47 hours, the 161st in the world rankings used his first match point.

For Hanfmann, currently number 49 in the ATP rankings, this is his fourth first-round defeat in his seventh tournament start this year. Among other things, he lost his opening match at the Australian Open.

Another German player did not start in Santiago de Chile.
