Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi are legends in tennis. But even in a different sport, the two now show their skills – and clear away.
Other rackets and yet successful: The tennis icons Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi exchanged the tennis racket for a model from the pickleball and won the third edition of the pickleball slam in Las Vegas on Sunday. Together with the former US tennis professional Mardy Fish, they prevailed against the former world ranking Andy Roddick and the former Wimbledon finalist Eugenie Bouchard.
The former tennis dream couple showed that it did not forget the game with the racket. Graf and Agassi won the first two games confidently – without giving a single sentence. Only in doubles they had to give up and lost just 1: 2.
The two were supported by their children Jaz Elle and Jaden, who loved in the stands. Jaz Elle shared a video of the match in her Instagram story and later posted a joint winning photo of the family with the comment “The Champs”.
With the success, Graf and Agassi secured prize money of one million dollars. They had already won the Pickleball Slam last year.
The family remains active anyway. While Jaz Elle works as a fitness trainer and devotes herself to ski and equestrian sports, her brother Jaden was recently appointed to the German baseball national team- as a pitcher he takes a key position in the team.
Pickleball is becoming increasingly popular in the USA. The sport combines elements made of tennis, badminton and table tennis and is played in a smaller field compared to the tennis. The speed of the ball is also significantly lower than with tennis.
