15:25
Arnaldi – Struff: 3: 3
That was probably the point of the match. Struff cannot end the point with two simple butterfly balls because his opponent makes himself very big and long. In the end, it is a good praise and a safe attacking ball that still helps him to lose spot. For the first time it gets out loud in the stadium.
15:22
Arnaldi – Struff: 3: 2
The Italian doesn’t burn anything on his own serve and continues to have everything under control. With extremely well -placed surcharges, he makes it difficult for the German to return it. Even if a return comes into the field, the basic line game of the Italian is so strong that it has no reason to worry that Struff could break it.
15:21
Arnaldi – Struff: 2: 2
This is followed by a simple point gain and a very important ass. The German remains in the sentence and was able to keep his serve game despite breakball.

Struff overpoweer! Because Struff puts a simple forehand far into the game without trouble.
15:17
Arnaldi – Struff: 2: 1
Weak serve by the German. This serves his opponent in the forehand and sets the way forward directly. However, what all of this is too slow. The surcharge and running forward did not match, which is why Arnaldi could simply push the return past struff.
15:15
Arnaldi – Struff: 2: 1
The latter then put a forehand on the net, but was able to correct his mistake with a good serve + butterfly ball afterwards and now leads 2-1.
15:14
Arnaldi – Struff: 1: 1
Arnaldi continues to open well. Without Struff a word can have a say, the first two points go to the clip.
15:13
Arnaldi – Struff: 1: 1

15:04
Arnaldi – Struff: 1-0
A good start here on the Center Court. Both players try to familiarize themselves with the trim of the lawn season. They still have many inaccuracies, such as frame hits. The surcharge will be an important weapon for both.
15:02
Coin fuss
Arnaldi won the coin tower and decided on a serve. It starts in a few minutes.
14:58
Beginnings
Both players have run in and will start with the warm-up.
14:56
Forecast:
Arnaldi has a slight advantage, also because Struff is in a deep crisis. Nevertheless, Struff’s experience on lawn and the home advantage could ensure a surprise – provided that he finds his impact game back and uses the quick conditions. Arnaldi has to quickly adapt to the unusual surface, but brings the momentum and the better shape. A tight match over three sentences is likely, with the daily form and the adaptation to the lawn will be decisive.

Play styles & keys to the match
Jan-Lennard Struff has a lot of experience and a strong surcharge that is particularly effective on lawn. His aggressive performance-and-volley game and his forehand could be the decisive factor on the fast coating. However, its current uncertainty in close situations is a risk. Matteo Arnaldi convinces with youthful dynamics, good footwork and a variable basic line. He is less experienced on fast deposits, but has shown with victories against top players that he can be dangerous even on unusual terrain. His backhand and his return game could be decisive against Struff’s surcharge.
14:55
Head to Head
In the direct duel it is 1: 1. Both previous encounters took place on hard court and each went over three sentences: Struff won in 2022 at Challenger in Bergamo, Arnaldi returned to the Masters in Shanghai in 2023. A real duel on lawn is therefore a premiere for both.
14:54
Matteo Arnaldi
Matteo Arnaldi (24, ATP 41) has established itself as one of the most promising players in Italy in the past two years. The 2025 season was mixed for him, with 15 wins with 13 defeats and without winning the title. Nevertheless, he reaches some exclamation marks, such as the quarter-finals at the Masters in Madrid, where he defeated Novak Djokovic, as well as a victory over Felix Auger-Al. However, Arnaldi is not a specialist for lawn: So far, he has only won four victories on the ATP tour on this surface.
14:49
Jan-Lennard Struff
Jan-Lennard Struff is facing an important home game in Stuttgart. The season has been disappointing for the 35-year-old Warsteiner: only four victories from the last 19 matches, twelve round-round defeats this year alone-including the last three tournaments. Struff has gotten into a low of molding, which recently even had it slipped out of the top 100 in the world rankings (currently ATP 103). He sees the lawn season as an opportunity for a restart: in the past, Struff has repeatedly shown strong appearances in the past, was even a finalist in Stuttgart in 2023 and has been a regular guest at the home tournament for years.
