The German tennis professional Daniel Altmaier and his Brazilian partner Joao Fonseca lost the doubles final at the grass tournament in Halle, Westphalia.
The duo lost to the French Théo Arribagé and Albano Olivetti on Center Court 6:7 (2:7), 4:6.
Olivetti and Arribagé served strongly: the two Frenchmen didn’t allow a single break point in the final and hit eleven aces. The duo was last eliminated in the quarter-finals at the grass tournament in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands.
Despite the defeat, Altmaier can look back on a successful tournament in Halle. In the individual, the Kempen native somewhat surprisingly made it to the semi-finals.
There the 27-year-old clearly lost 1:6. 3:6 against the American Frances Tiafoe. Fonseca was already eliminated in the first round of the individual competition against Yannick Hanfmann from Karlsruhe.
