Ten years after the Paris climate agreement: there is progress, but it is too slow

Today marks ten years to the day since 195 countries – including the United States and China – adopted the Paris climate agreement. The signatories agreed to keep global warming below 2 degrees and preferably below 1.5 degrees by the end of the century. In the meantime, that lower limit seems to be doomed and we are heading for 2.3 to 2.6 degrees.
