“He has been important in that,” Eriksen said. “I came here to play football, not just for the logo of this club. When I spoke to the manager and heard his ideas about the game, I saw myself playing here.”
Eriksen, 30, has come to Manchester with many ambitions. “I am going to play for a very, very big club. If not the biggest. It doesn’t matter where in the world you call the club name, everyone recognizes it. Manchester United have a great history and it feels good to be a part of it. It was ideal for me to be able to talk to the coach to hear his ideas about football. That helped in making the decision to go to Manchester United.”
