Telstar takes three points against TOP Oss thanks to Plet

Telstar won at the last minute against TOP Oss today. Thanks to a goal from Glynor Plet deep in stoppage time, it still became 1-0.

At Telstar, Mike Snoei had made room for Cain Seedorf. The fast attacker played on the spot of the suspended Christos Giousis. Jonathan Mulder was left back replacing Delvechio Blackson, who traveled with Suriname. After ten minutes Telstar should have taken a 1-0 lead when Mulder delivered a ready-made cross to Jay Kruiver. The right back, however, shot the cross over the goal from close range.

Halfway through the first half, David Min had a good opportunity on behalf of Telstar. The striker pulled in from the left and hit hard with the right. His effort sailed miserably a yard in front. Despite Telstar’s predominance, both teams went to the dressing rooms before the break without scoring.

At the start of the second half, Kruiver had to make way for Yahya Boussakou. The substitute on the side of Telstar showed himself after eight minutes in the second company with a perfect cross on Seedorf from the right. Seedorf got the ball from close range, but not past goalkeeper Jansen from TOP Oss.

Telstar was diligently looking for a goal in the last half hour and started a final offensive with substitutes Glynor Plet and Rein Smit. For a long time, very little happened in front of TOP Oss’ goal, but Telstar still struck in the 93rd minute. A long shot from Anwar Bensabouh was not processed well by Jansen and Glynor Plet was the fastest to tap the rebound. The striker secured Telstar’s well-deserved victory with his seventh goal of the season.

Thanks to the victory, Telstar climbs to ninth place in the first division. Mike Snoei’s team has now collected 43 points from 30 games.
