Two boys aged 15 and 16 years old were arrested on Tuesday evening for a robbery. They are suspected of having threatened a teenager with a firearm on Raamsdonkstraat in Tilburg around half past nine and to have taken his fatbike. Less than half an hour later, after a big manhunt, the police arrested the two suspects because the bike was equipped with a tag.
The young victim must be very shocked according to the police when he was robbed by several people on scooters and e-bikes. But the teenager was not injured in the robbery in the De Reeshof district.
Traced
Because the boy had fitted his fatbike with a tag, the police could easily detect the two -wheeler. According to the police, this often does not work with thick tires with e-bikes, because such a tag is not on it as standard.
During the massive search, the police even used a helicopter to detect the perpetrators and that worked within half an hour. The Fatbike was found around ten in the evening and the two young suspects arrested on Haydnstraat in Tilburg-Noord. That is about eight kilometers from the place of the armed robbery.
Earlier robberies
On Monday evening, a teenager was also robbed of his watch on Sneekstraat in Tilburg. Even then the perpetrators rode on a fatbike and the young victim was threatened with a firearm. It is striking that one of the suspect was estimated at 16 years.
