A year after the fire, the front of the building was finished with wooden panels. According to center manager Wim de Ruiter, the building owner is working on the permits. “But it takes longer than expected,” Wim admits.

Trial behind closed doors

The fire made a deep impression on him and the entrepreneurs. “It left me with a little trauma,” Wim admits honestly. “The impact on our entrepreneurs was enormous.”

There are also still questions about the settlement of the damage. Entrepreneurs hope that there will be more clarity after the lawsuit.

Court hearings with minor suspects are private. “The suspects are vulnerable and still very young and have their whole lives ahead of them,” writes a spokesperson for the Public Prosecution Service.

However, the sentence against the girls will be announced today or tomorrow. The judge will rule in this case on December 10.
