Tears for Metejoor and a first boy for K3: the best of the last ‘Blind Auditions’ in ‘The Voice Kids’ | showbiz

TVNext week ‘The Voice Kids’ will shift up a gear. But before the Battles start, the teams of coaches Duncan Laurence, Laura Tesoro, K3 and Metejoor had to be completed. Competition between the coaches was thus greatly increased.

“Everyone now knows very well what they want and it’s the last places so it’s starting to get more and more exciting. I think we’re going to have to fight more. I myself am still looking for a real power voice”, says Laura. Coach Duncan in particular will have to consider very carefully: “I can only take one more candidate, that is difficult!”

Lise (13, Wuustwezel) was allowed to take her chance in ‘The Voice Kids’ on Friday. During her Blind Audition she knows how to really touch coach Metejoor with her choice of song ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’ by James Arthur. “This song means a lot to me. I lost one of my best friends and I made a cover for him on this song,” said an emotional Metejoor.

Candidate Jools (14, Aartselaar) has been dreaming all her life to end up on the stage of ‘The Voice Kids’. She got her love for music from her daddy at a young age: “My daddy is DJ MC Six” it sounds like. “He raps and beatboxes and has already performed at Pukkelpop. That’s actually super cool. He always says: just have fun, that’s all that matters.” She performs the song ‘Let It Go’ by James Bay. Finally, Laura and K3 turn around for her. “I love that hoarseness in your voice,” says Laura. “I was there right away, from your very first sentence.” And so Jools chooses Laura Tesoro.

Ten-year-old Lars has no shortage of stage experience. He played in the musical ’40-45′ by Studio 100 and loves being on stage. He takes his chance with Unity’s ‘Best Friends’. Both Duncan Laurence and K3 turn around and Lars has to recover from that. Even a tear is shed. “Sorry we kept you waiting for so long,” says Hanne from K3. “We were just having fun.” And Duncan also indicates that he really enjoyed Lars’ audition. In the end, the boy chooses K3, which gives them the first boy in their team.

Lola (13, Nieuwmunster) performs ‘Hit The Road Jack’ by Ray Charles, the first song she could play entirely on the piano. According to her mother, she has a voice ‘from the past’, but can that voice also charm the coaches? Obviously yes, because they all turn around for her and even give Lola a standing ovation. “You have such a unique voice. The fact that at 13 you turn to the band and sign and take the lead … That’s what I want in my team,” says Duncan. He definitely convinces Lola with it, because she chooses Duncan.

The adventurous Juliette (12, Assebroek) is in the sea scouts and regularly goes sailing and rowing with her friends. She also plays the piano, something she also does during her Blind Audition to the notes of ‘Warrior’ by Demi Lovato. Laura Tesoro is the only one who turns around. “It’s awesome that you’re sitting there behind that piano, singing a Demi Lovato ballad like it’s nothing.”
