For the new marketing director Rouven Kasper, his move from VfB Stuttgart to FC Bayern was associated with great emotions – and tears.

“I have to admit: The last few weeks after the announcement of my departure from VfB were very emotional. The last week was really intense. On Monday I cleared out my office and said goodbye to the entire staff on Tuesday – Alexander Wehrle, our CEO, caught me off guard again,” said the 43-year-old in an interview with the “Stuttgarter Zeitung”.

Kasper explained: “I’m an emotional person, which is where I get my daily energy from. And unfortunately Alex knows this very well. Before this breakfast with the employees, I asked him to let it go – but he pressed the appropriate buttons again in his beautiful and appreciative speech. I also got a personal song. I couldn’t hold back the tears.”

It hurts “to leave VfB and all the great people here. However, I’m already keen on the new challenge,” said Kasper, who will officially start his job at FC Bayern on January 1st.

VfB Stuttgart “strong and healthy”, FC Bayern “a different world”

Kasper described VfB as “strong and healthy” and said the club had “substance”. However, FC Bayern is “another world again,” said the Baden-Württemberg native. “The power, emotion and fascination that this club radiates is difficult to understand if you have not yet experienced the structure from the inside.”

This does not apply to Kasper, as he already worked as the person responsible for the Asia-Pacific activities of the German record champions on Säbener Straße from 2016 to 2021.

He “now has the chance to be one of three board members in one of the largest football clubs in the world. That’s an enormous challenge – one that I don’t want to avoid and that I’m just really excited about,” emphasized Kasper.
