The Carolina Hurricanes secured the Stanley Cup championship early Monday morning Finnish time when they beat the Vegas Golden Knights 3-0.
The Hurricanes won the championship 4–2.
The away team’s players celebrate wildly on the ice of the T-Mobile Arena.
First the Carolina captain Jordan Staal claimed the Conn Smythe award for playoff MVP, then the Stanley Cup.
One person’s happiness is another’s misery.
The Vegas players were more broken than each other after the loss.
The home team’s head coach John Tortorella praised his team after the fight stopped. He stated several times that he was lucky to get to know the team.
Tortorella became Vegas’ head coach at the end of the regular season and led his team to the finals. His brief stint in Vegas was a success.
Tortorella boasted confidence after the lost five game.
– We will come back here. I leave my clothes here at the hotel, he said to the media after the fifth final.
However, the Golden Knights will no longer travel to Raleigh for the tiebreaker.
The Hurricanes’ social media department grabbed Tortorella’s comments after the final that decided the championship.
– We will send them [vaatteet] to you. However, it may take a few days. We’re a bit busy, Carolina’s social media account answered spiky.
Tortorella will reportedly not continue as Vegas head coach next season.
The legendary coach has won one Stanley Cup in his long career. He coached the Tampa Bay Lightning to the championship in 2004.
Tortorella has twice been selected as the NHL’s best coach.
