Taylor Swift speaks out about the Los Angeles fires

Taylor Swift comments on the fires in Los Angeles on Instagram – she also donated.

The Los Angeles fires have been raging on the West Coast of the United States since January 7th. Now Taylor Swift is also commenting on the tragic disaster via Instagram.

“So much suffering, loss and destruction”

“The LA fires have affected so many families and it is heartbreaking to witness these stories. “So much suffering, loss and destruction,” Swift wrote in an Instagram story, referring to the immense damage the fires have caused so far. The most fatal fires are probably the fire in Eaton Canyon just outside Pasadena and the fire in the celebrity neighborhood of Pacific Palisades in the west of the region. Not only have the fires now cost 27 people their lives, the flames – which continue to burn uncontrollably – have also destroyed an estimated thousands of homes.

Taylor Swift donates

Taylor Swift herself lives in Rhode Island, on the other side of the USA, and is therefore not directly affected by the fires. Nevertheless, she announced via social media that she had donated to several organizations. “While so many people are going through one of the most difficult times of their lives, there are also many amazing organizations and groups coming together to help these communities rebuild,” Swift’s Instagram post reads. “I have donated to these organizations, and if you would like to or can donate, please do so.” Below is a list of organizations to which the pop icon has apparently donated. These include MusiCares, Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Pasadena Educational Foundation Eaton Fire Response Fund, among others.

FireAid benefit concert will take place soon

The organizations mentioned in the 35-year-old’s post are just a few of many that have become active in the Los Angeles area in recent weeks. Major labels such as Sony Music and Warner Music also made donations for the victims of the fires.

Now Live Nation, AEG and the Azoff Company have even announced that two FireAid benefit concerts will take place simultaneously on January 30th, one at the Intuite Dome and the other at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California. Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Gwen Stefani, Joni Mitchell and Earth Wind and Fire will appear, among others.
