Mumford & Sons: Turbulent Years
In 2021, Mumford & Sons parted ways with founding member Winston Marshall, who had taken over guitar, banjo and co-vocals for the band. The multi-instrumentalist had previously publicly praised the politically right-wing author Andy Ngo. Although he initially apologized, he later qualified this statement. He then left the band. His reasoning: This way he could continue to speak out on controversial social issues without the band being affected.
In the long break that followed, the lead singer and guitarist at least took part Marcus Mumford his solo album “Self-Titled” (2022). The last Mumford & Sons album to date is “Delta”, released in 2018.
