Last weekend, a furious storm raged in the US state of Tennessee. Tornadoes destroyed buildings and at least six people were reported dead and dozens injured. As of the beginning of the week, thousands of residents of the state were still without electricity.

American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift donated $1 million to Tennessee Emergency Response Fund – to the emergency fund to support communities affected by the disaster. Swift lives in the state capital, Nashville.

– Taylor’s incredibly generous gift is a message to her hometown and surrounding communities that she supports them during the long journey of recovery after this devastating event, Director of the Foundation that runs the fund Hal Cato wrote in the message service X.

– Each of these funds is purposely designed to ensure that aid reaches those who need it most quickly.

Swift has also supported his home region in the past. In March 2020, a total of 24 people died as tornadoes swept through Nashville and Middle Tennessee. Even then, Swift donated $1 million to the same emergency fund.

– Nashville is my home, Swift wrote in her statement at the time.

Swift was named Time magazine’s Person of the Year. According to Time magazine, Swift has been compared, among other things to Bob Dylan, to Paul McCartney and To Joni Mitchell. The 33-year-old singer’s albums have sold hundreds of millions of songs over the course of 17 years
