Taylor Swift has surprisingly announced her new album THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT.
Taylor Swift performed at the 66th on Sunday night. Grammys in Los Angeles became the first person in award history to win four awards for “Album of the Year” and gave their fans something big in return in their acceptance speech: The “Swifties” can look forward to a new album, THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT will be called.

In her acceptance speech, Taylor Swift said: “I know that the way the Recording Academy voted is a direct reflection of the passion of the fans. So I want to thank the fans by telling you a secret that I’ve been keeping from you for the last two years, which is that my brand new album is coming out on April 19th.”
Right after she left the stage, she also posted the cover of her new album with the words: “Everything is allowed in love and poetry.”
Attentive fans had already noticed in advance that Taylor Swift had apparently planned something. Because the profile photo had been swapped on her social channels. The new image was similar to the aesthetic already known from the REPUTATION album, which is why some were convinced that “Reputation (Taylor’s Version)” would now be announced. However, Taylor Swift is always good for a surprise.
REPUTATION was released in 2017, followed by LOVERS in 2019, FOLKLORE and EVERMORE in 2020 and MIDNIGHTS, released in 2022, for which she was once again awarded the Grammy for “Album of the Year”.

It can be assumed that Taylor Swift will present a new single or at least a first teaser from the new album in the coming weeks in order to increase the anticipation and curiosity of fans until the release date on April 19th.
Not only in the album title, but also on the handwritten page that Swift posted on the cover, as “chairwoman of the Tortured Poets Department,” she once again addresses past loves and the condemnation for processing her private experiences in music.
