Taylor Swift attended the premiere of “Toy Story 5” at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles on Tuesday evening. Her appearance came as a surprise, but it wasn’t completely out of nowhere: Swift had recently released her new song for the film’s soundtrack – the country-tinged “I Knew It, I Knew You”.

At the event, she chatted with other guests and had her photo taken with the cast of the highly anticipated film.

“I Knew It, I Knew You” marked Swift’s return to her country roots and swept country radio upon its debut. This week, Swift made history: The song was picked up by all Mediabase-monitored country stations – becoming the first track by a female artist to completely clear the panel in its very first week.

What’s also notable is that this historic milestone coincides with the 20th anniversary of their debut single, “Tim McGraw,” which was released on June 19 – the same day that “Toy Story 5” hits theaters.

Jessie as inspiration

In a previous Instagram post, Swift shared a behind-the-scenes look at the song, which was inspired by the beloved Pixar character Jessie. “Writing this song felt like a musical departure and a homecoming at the same time. Creating something for Jessie was a new challenge and at the same time felt like the most natural thing in the world,” Swift captioned a video of herself as a little girl wearing a cowgirl hat and boots. The singer said she has been a “Toy Story” fan since she was five years old – “an adventure that I want to stay on, to infinity and beyond.”
